Over the years I have made a lot of furniture using burr elm, and have saved some special pieces with the intention of making instruments
from them. Those that I have made, play really well.

Recently I was commissioned
to make two, five stringed violins, the first one was an ordinary secondary colour, the second a pearlescent finish, which was
quite demanding!
